closet-keys:

My brother was diagnosed with depression years before I was, and because of that he started therapy years before I did.

I still remember when I was a young teen and he was playing a Nirvana song and he stopped it at this one line: “I miss the comfort of being sad”

He told me that when you start to get better, there’s a part of you that misses being sad and that if you start feeling that way you have to be extra extra aware and careful because if you indulge the feeling you’ll go down a self-destructive spiral

And even though that was years and years ago, I think about it all the time. Especially when I’m reading discourse on the idea of getting so attached to mental illness as an identity that you don’t want to improve things because you feel safe in it and don’t know who you are without it

I always think of that line “I miss the comfort of being sad” and my brother’s warning

me: *wailing dramatically while wandering the halls of my dark mansion in a long black chiffon dressing gown with a black feather trim that trails behind me about a foot over a simple and elegant black silk slip dress, holding a fully lit candelabra and leaving a trail of wax drippings on my hardwood floors*

my spouse: *turns on the hall light* we fucking talked about this

Shoutout to all my ladies who are recognizing themselves as creatives, artists, writers, painters, poets, sculptors, songwriters, illustrators.. shoutout to all the ladies awakening to their own creativity and understanding we’re not just muses we are living art and artists and have space to express this art. We’re releasing the need to ask for permission, we are doing what we’ve dreamed of because we dreamed it and it’s ours.

Anonymous asked:

hey could you say which moon sign is the most detached?

aquarian-madness:

They seem detached

Cancer moon: This is a very natural position for the moon to be in. However they can be very private with their emotions, only keeping their true emotions within their close circle.

Scorpio moon: Due to the secretive nature of Pluto, Scorpio’s ruling planet. That makes Scorpio moons very private with what they’re feeling. Only ever revealing their true emotions when they trust someone immensely or is under stress.

They are detached

Gemini moon: Ruled by Mercury, this air moon tend to think and dissect their emotions instead of feeling them. They can repress feelings and can lead to a flood of emotions coming out eventually, triggered by the most minute things.

Virgo moon: Another Mercury ruled moon sign. They can pick at their emotions, dissecting it apart instead of outright feeling it. They can be in this state of mind/heart for a long time before just feeling all their emotions and getting it out of their system.

Libra moon: Libra is the scale, this moon sign wants balance. Inner balance is very important to them, it’s possible they might ignore a negative emotion just to keep that peace in their mind or explain it away only for it to come back later.

Capricorn moon: Ruled by Saturn. Saturn restricts the things that it touches so it can make them more analytical of their emotions, they could prefer to not feel their emotions if they don’t have to. It can also lead to a build up of emotions.

Aquarius moon: Ruled by Uranus and co-ruled by Saturn. Their feelings can come and go very sporadically. Being an air moon, they can also prefer to think about their emotions rather than feeling. This can lead to them having an overwhelm of emotions later on.

It can also depend on what house the moon is in.

Moon in the water houses (4th, 8th, 12th), emotions can be kept more private regardless of the sign. That can make them seem cold or detached when they’re really not.

Look at the aspects to moon also, it can alter the traits of whatever sign the moon is in.
